About Us
STEMtastic learning consultants is a group of proven educational experts, in the areas of STEM/STEAM, who can facilitate customizable and differentiated support, guidance, and professional development for enhanced content and STEM (A) integration. Though we follow our own unique guidelines, there are no pre-made templates and steps to follow because each school’s internal and external environment presents unique opportunities and challenges. We collaborate with school leadership, faculty/staff, and local experts to map out your school’s unique, authentic and relevant journey.

Founder
Dr. Margul Retha Woolfolk
Margul Retha has over 30 years of experience as an educator. She is a strong advocate for the power of STEM and STEAM education. She believes these approaches allow children to become explorers, and foster creativity and innovation through problem-based and project-based learning. By examining literacy, mathematics, and science scores and comparing them with state, national, and global benchmarks, we can identify growth areas and ensure our students are equipped to thrive and be competitive in the workforce one day. STEM/STEAM empowers students to think critically and collaborate as they solve real-world challenges. This approach is needed more than ever. She has proven a commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of children by consistently taking on the role of scholar, researcher, and instructional leader and advocating for all students with diverse backgrounds.
Dr. Margul Retha Woolfolk successfully served as an Associate Superintendent in a large K-12 public school district, leading an entire cluster of schools under her supervision to obtain STEM certification. One of those elementary schools was also rewarded with an Apple Distinguished School certification. Margul was the proud principal of M. Agnes Jones Elementary School (MAJ) in Atlanta, Ga. During her fourteen years as the principal of MAJ, she led the school to become the first Georgia Department of Education (GADOE) STEM Certified School in APS (2017) and, two years later, become GADOE STEAM certified! Most recently, in February 2020, M. Agnes Jones ES also became COGNIA International STEM Certified, becoming the only school in Georgia to obtain GaDOE STEM, GaDOE STEAM, and COGNIA STEM certification.
Dr. Margul Retha Woolfolk is an Atlanta native and proud alumna of Spelman College. Additionally, she has engaged in educational pursuits at various universities, including Georgia State University, University of Georgia, Harvard, and Teachers College (Columbia University). She has built a reputation for being able to work with various community partners, including colleges and universities, Fortune 500 corporations, churches, urban farms, and industry. She has also served as a part-time instructor at Georgia State University.
Margul Retha takes joy in spending time with her husband, Ralph III, their adult sons, Ralph IV, Ryan, and Robert, and granddaughters, Chloe and Harper, and grandson, Ralph V.
When she is not learning, teaching, and caring for family, she travels, reads, and enjoys the outdoors. She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.
